though it is often
misunderstood;
it gnawed at her heart,
the truth.
she buried it deep
within herself,
for she figured there was no use in knowing
flaws,
for she figured there was no use in finding out
that everything she wanted
could never
occur.
and soon this deprivation—
the one that lies
in the area between
knowing
and trying not to know
what lie beyond lies
and which truths shall stay truths—
this pain and
emptiness that fed off her
chest—
it was this
deprivation
that drove everyone
away.
—if only loneliness were
meant to be understood,
then it wouldn’t
be loneliness
at all.
